LANSING, MI — Some of the state’s highest risk areas for wildfires are across mid-Michigan, according to the DNR.
Meridian Township is listed as having “extreme fire risk” for the early part of this week. Rain is possible throughout the week which should significantly reduce the fire risk.
Residents are advised to use extreme caution when discarding smoking materials, using motorized or powered lawn equipment near dry vegetation. In addition, grilling or cooking over dry grassy areas is not recommended.
