LANSING, MI — A McLaren Greater Lansing nurse is being remembered for a decade of caring for patients in the hospital’s emergency department. Antonia Jones, 33, died this week after she was involved in a two car accident in Lansing a week ago, according to media partner 6 News WLNS.
Police say her car was struck at the intersection of W. Oakland Ave. and N. Pine St. in Lansing last Thursday night. Jones died four days later surrounded by family. Police officials told 6 News that witnesses said the driver of the other car that struck Jones was seen speeding and running red lights before the crash. Police officials say alcohol and speed are likely factors and are seeking charges.
The flags in front of McLaren Greater Lansing are at half-mast for the next 10 days, a day for each year of her service as an emergency department technician, according to the report.
Family and co-workers launched a Go Fund Me effort to raise money for Jones’ family, which includes two of her children: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ToniJonesStrong
