LANSING, MI — The Lansing School District has 11 solar projects underway that have attracted $9 million in clean energy incentives, according to a press release. LSD efforts should generate a first year estimated savings of up to $500,000 in energy costs, along with saving as much as $11 million over 30 years.
“The Lansing School District (LSD) has taken a leadership role in the area of clean energy,” said superintendent Ben Shuldiner. “By harnessing clean energy, we are reducing costs, protecting our environment, and creating opportunities for students to learn about clean energy firsthand. This is a powerful step toward a greener future for our schools and the Lansing community.”
The Lansing School District will hold an event at Pattengill School on Wednesday to celebrate the school district’s ongoing solar energy projects.
