LANSING, MI — The Electric Light Parade will once again anchor Silvers Bells in the City in downtown Lansing on Friday night. This year, the parade starts at 6:00 p.m. and features more than 70 entries, including 11 high school marching bands, horse drawn carriages and Santa Claus.
The lighting of the official state Christmas tree will follow the parade. Pop singer and American Idol runner-up David Archuleta will be part of the celebration, leading the community sing-a-long after the tree lighting and parade. A drone show, featuring 200 drones synchronized to music, will be featured along with fireworks as a finale over the state Capitol.
Silver Bells has become one of the region’s longest-lasting and most popular events, and organizers said in a release this year’s Silver Bells in the City celebration, the 40th anniversary, is expected to draw Lansing’s biggest crowd of the year – about 40,000 people on the Friday before Thanksgiving.
