MASON, MI — Is there ever a good time to be pulled over by the police in mid-Michigan? Maybe, but only if they are handing our fair tickets instead of speeding tickets!
A new agreement between Ingham County Fair officials and the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department and four other local jurisdictions means officers on the road have handfuls of tickets to the fair to hand out.
“We are teaming up for a one-of-a-kind giveaway that turns traffic stops into a chance for family fun. So, buckle up, drive safely and keep an eye out, you might just get a ticket to the Fair or to activities at the Fair,” according to a press release from fair officials.
Local police have hundreds of fair tickets to hand over. Other participating departments include East Lansing Police Department, Leslie Police Department, Mason Police Department and Williamston Police Department.
The Ingham County Fair runs July 28-August 2 at the Ingham County Fairgrounds in Mason. For a full schedule and operating hours, visit the website Fair.ingham.org.
