LANSING, MI — The Lansing School District in a press release has announced strong gains in student performance on the recently released Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (MSTEP) results, marking the fourth consecutive year of academic growth across key grade levels in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
This year’s results highlight consistent improvement across multiple grade levels:
- English Language Arts (ELA):
- 3rd Grade: +2.6%
- 5th Grade: +3.3%
- 7th Grade: +5.4%
- 8th Grade: +1.6%
- Mathematics:
- 3rd Grade: +3.9%
- 4th Grade: +1.2%
- 5th Grade: +2.8%
- 6th Grade: +0.8%
- 7th Grade: +0.9%
- 8th Grade: +0.5%
- Science:
- 5th Grade: +2.0%
- 8th Grade: +1.3%
- Social Studies
- 5th Grade: +6.1% (more than doubled)
- 8th Grade: +10.1% (more than doubled)
