EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State University basketball has released it’s 2025-26 non-conference schedule and it’s highlighted by games against Arkansas and Duke at the Breslin Center and neutral site contests vs. Kentucky and North Carolina.
With home non-conference games against Arkansas (Nov. 8) and Duke (Dec. 6) in addition to 10 Big Ten contests, Michigan State will host 12 power conference opponents for the first time in the Izzo Era, the school says is arguably the best in program history.
To begin the season, the Spartans will play a pair of exhibition games to start the 2025-26 season, hosting Bowling Green on Thursday, Oct. 23 and a visit to play at Connecticut on Tuesday, Oct. 28. The regular season starts with three games at home, beginning on Monday, Nov. 3 when the Spartans host Colgate.
Following the season opener, MSU will welcome Arkansas to the Breslin Center for the first time on Saturday, Nov. 8. The homestand closes on Thursday, Nov. 13 when San Jose State visits and Michigan State then travels to New York City to play Kentucky on Tuesday, Nov. 18 in the Champions Classic at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden.
MSU returns home for one game, hosting Detroit at the Breslin Center on Friday, Nov. 21, before heading to Florida for the Fort Myers Tip-Off. The two-game event starts with a matchup against East Carolina on Tuesday, Nov. 25 before the Spartans play North Carolina on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 27).
Michigan State will welcome Duke to the Breslin Center for its first visit since 2019 (and third overall) on Saturday, Dec. 6. The Spartans will head into the Motor City to play Oakland at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday, Dec. 20. This will be the 13th-straight year that MSU will play the Golden Grizzlies and the fourth time the teams have played in downtown Detroit.
The non-conference schedule closes with a contest against Cornell on Monday, Dec. 29.
