LANSING, MI — Cold weather and snow has so far delayed the start on the biggest road construction project set to begin in mid-Michigan this spring. MDOT says the inclement weather has delayed the setting of barricades and equipment in preparation for the US-127 project north of Lansing.
This year’s planned improvements on US-127 from south of Lake Lansing Road to I-69 in Lansing and East Lansing, Ingham County, are set to begin once the cold weather breaks.
MDOT says it is rebuilding US-127 to improve roadway geometrics, safety and vehicular movement. Work will include pavement repairs using concrete rubblization with an asphalt overlay, bridges improvements, and upgraded drainage, signs, intelligent transportation systems and pavement markings, according to a press release.
