OKEMOS, MI — Okemos school board trustees have selected a northern Michigan administrator as the candidate for the district’s next superintendent. The unanimous vote came on Tuesday night, according to a report in the Lansing State Journal.
Matthew Olson currently serves as assistant superintendent of Northwest Education Services in Traverse City, but previously worked for several mid-Michigan schools, according to reports. Olsen was one of two finalists for the position.
The position is being vacated by John Hood, who is retiring.
