LANSING, MI — An approaching storm system will bring the chance for severe weather back to mid-Michigan on Thursday, according to media partner 6 News WLNS.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the southern half of mid-Michigan, including Battle Creek and Jackson, under a Slight Risk (2 out of 5) for severe storms, with a Marginal Risk (1 out of 5) for areas north of I-94, which includes the Lansing area, according to WLNS meteorologists.
The StormTracker 6 forecast says the storms could produce damaging wind gusts, large hail (quarter-sized or larger), and a few isolated tornadoes. Much of the storm’s potential will depend on how much sunshine and warming the mid-Michigan area sees on Thursday morning.
