LANSING, MI — Drivers who navigate the road construction zone on US-127 in Lansing between I-96 and I-496 will find new challenges beginning today. The Michigan Department of Transportation says crossover work on southbound US-127 will result an additional lane closure the next two weeks through June 18.
This latest project will require having only one lane open on southbound US-127 from Forest Road to Jolly Road. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to seek alternate routes. The work will eventually mean more ramps will be allowed to reopen at the US-127 and I-96 interchange.
MDOT says the work is part of the $205 million investment to rebuild US-127/I-496 from I-96 to I-496 to address safety concerns, improve roadway geometrics and improve vehicular movement.
