EAST LANSING, MI — A former Michigan State baseball player has signed with the Savannah Bananas for the 2026 season. JT Sokolove signed with the barnstorming baseball club as a designated baserunner.
A native of Hudsonville, Mich., Sokolove spent one season at MSU after transferring from Illinois State. Sokolove led MSU and ranked tied for fourth in the Big Ten with 16 stolen bases in 20 attempts.
Solokove started all 53 games he played in as a Spartan in 2025, hitting .250 with 47 hits, including eight doubles and two home runs, knocking in 22 RBI and scoring 39 runs. He also drew 24 walks and was hit-by-pitch 19 times, which led MSU along with ranking tied for eighth in the B1G and tying for 78th in the NCAA. Playing primarily center field, Sokolove had a .971 fielding percentage with 131 putouts and two outfield assists.
