CADILLAC, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The biological mother and stepfather of Rebecca Park are held without bond in the Wexford County Jail on eight charges each, including first-degree murder and assault of a pregnant individual.
Park’s body was found November 25th in the Manistee National Forest and she disappeared just days before she was due to give birth. She had been missing for several weeks.
40-year-old Cortney and 47-year-old Brad Bartholomew are accused of planning to kill her daughter, and they both face up to life in prison if convicted.
The young woman’s baby remains missing.
The couple is charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, conspiracy to commit torture, assault of a pregnant individual causing miscarriage or stillbirth, conspiracy to commit assault of a pregnant individual causing miscarriage or stillbirth, unlawful imprisonment, and removing a dead body.
They allegedly lured Rebecca Park to their home November 3rd when she was 38-weeks pregnant and tortured her, trying to remove the baby. The torture resulted on both of them dying.
