LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan lawmakers have adjourned for the rest of 2025 and passed the fewest bills in a regular session since 1842.
The prior record was 90 public acts signed that year by Governor John Berry.
The House and Senate produced around 70 bills this year. House Speaker Matt Hall of Richland says they had a “perfect legislative year,” doing “exactly what we wanted to do.”
Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks says it is “really strange that he’s so proud of not doing his job.”
The House has a Republican majority, while the Senate has a Democratic majority.
