GRAND LEDGE, MI — Instead of trashing your Christmas tree and placing it at the curb for city pick up, how about repurposing it? Mitten Misfits Farm Sanctuary in Grand Ledge is asking for your tree this year to use as feed.
The goats at the sanctuary love munching the green needles, according to the farm’s operators, and then the tree can be turned into mulch for bedding and trails around the farm. The Christmas trees must be free of tinsel, garland and lights. In addition, trees should still be green.
