DETROIT, MI — Downtown Detroit will be packed Friday for the Tigers’ home opener, an unofficial holiday every spring. First pitch is set for 1:10 p.m. Friday afternoon against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Game day festivities include a free Opening Day Tailgate Party at Grand Circus Park, across from Comerica. The free event features video walls showing the game, DJs, food trucks and a beer tent. The weather looks good for opening day in Motown. The forecast is for partly cloudy skies and a high near 68.
The Tigers have started the season slowly. They are 2-4 after being swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks suffering a 1-0 loss last night.
