LANSING, MI — If you are roadtripping this weekend somewhere, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) says it will lift lane restrictions on nearly 60% of its ongoing projects for Labor Day weekend to help ease traffic delays.
The restrictions will be lifted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, and remain in effect through 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling through work zones since some lane restrictions will be lifted, equipment and certain traffic configurations may remain in place, according to MDOT.
In addition, travelers are also reminded that the Mackinac Bridge will be closed to public traffic on Labor Day, Sept. 7, from 6:30 a.m. to noon for the annual Bridge Walk.
