JACKSON, MI — The City of Jackson Fire Department will open its doors to the community for its annual Open House on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Jackson Fire Station.
According to a press release, residents are invited to bring their family and friends for a high-energy, action-packed day filled with excitement, activities, and a rare behind-the-scenes look at your local heroes in action.
Event highlights include:
• Live vehicle extrication
• Kids’ smoke trailer—let your children learn how to escape safely from a simulated smoke-filled room!
• Spray a real fire hose—kids and adults can try their hand at putting out a “fire” with the same hoses our crews use!
• Special Operations—see our Haz-Mat and Technical Rescue teams and their incredible gear up close!
• Car seat inspection sign-up sheet
• Recruitment table for those interested in joining the fire service
• Free Food and refreshments
