ST. IGNACE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Mackinac Bridge had fewer crossings for the Fourth of July holiday than last year, but officials say delays were down.
Mackinac Bridge Authority spokesman James Lake says traffic builds up every year before a major holiday weekend and around 600,000 cross over every July and August.
Lake says paying the toll with cash is eleven seconds per transaction faster than using a credit or debit card.
