LANSING, MI — The Capital Region Airport Authority will begin a major roadway infrastructure reconstruction project in July 2026 to improve safety, access, traffic flow, and long-term durability on key airport-owned roadways serving the Capital Region International Airport.
The project will upgrade Port Lansing Road from DeWitt Road to Airport Road, a 2.3-mile corridor, and Capital City Boulevard from Grand River Avenue to West Circle Drive, a 0.4-mile corridor. Passengers or guests of the airport are reminded to add a little extra travel time to get to and from the airport beginning this month..
“This infrastructure initiative isn’t just about paving roads; it is a strategic investment that strengthens LAN’s position as a premier regional logistics and economic hub,” said Nicole Noll-Williams, president and CEO, Capital Region Airport Authority. “This project modernizes our gateway, ensuring our physical infrastructure matches the forward-looking growth of the Capital Region.”
