Oct 6 (Reuters) – Singapore-based data center developer Zerra DC has secured an investment from Macquarie Capital to expand its hyperscale platform across Asia-Pacific, the company said on Tuesday.

• Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.
• The investment builds on Macquarie Capital’s existing relationship with Zerra at Western Downs Digital Park (WDDP) in Queensland.
• Zerra said it will develop and operate the WDDP campus, with Macquarie Capital participating as a consortium partner and project and financial adviser.
• The firm’s current development pipeline comprises more than 2 gigawatts of planned IT capacity across Australia, Japan and India.
• Investments in Asia-Pacific data center buildouts have been gathering pace, with Australian data center operator AirTrunk committing $3 billion in April to build two hyperscale data centers in Malaysia.
• Zerra added Grant Samuel acted as financial adviser for the deal.
