Oct 27 (Field Level Media) – The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without superstar guard Anthony Edwards for up to two months after he undergoes arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, ESPN reported Tuesday.
Edwards, 25, played through soreness and inflammation in his right knee during the 2025-26 regular season and postseason before suffering a left knee hyperextension and bone bruise in the first round of the playoffs. The four- time All-Star took about two months off over the summer to rest and allow his knees to heal without surgery.
A two-time All-NBA Second Team selection, Edwards is coming off a 47-point performance Monday in a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It marked the seventh time in his career he has scored at least 47 points.
Through four games this season, Edwards is averaging 33.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 48.1% from the field and 40.0% from 3-point range for the Timberwolves (3-1).
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Edwards is in his seventh season with Minnesota and has career averages of 24.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 446 games (427 starts). He has made 1,332 3-pointers at a 37% clip.
Minnesota hosts the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
